About TTGAF

Tanzania Tree Growers Associations Federation (TTGAF) is a member based organization supporting forest and farm small scale growing farmers in Tanzania. It was founded in 2017 to promote the social, economic and environmental interests of small-scale forest and farm growers in the country.

SOIL SAMPLING DESIGN AND PROCEDURE

Soils in the landscape can be, by nature, quite heterogeneous both across a paddock and down the profile and all due care and attention needs to be employed to ensure that the sample taken in the field truly represents what was intended. While the laboratory does not always have control over the sampling process, every attempt needs to be taken to ensure that all subsamples and aliquots for analysis are fully representative of the sample presented to the laboratory. To do this, samples are required to be homogenized as much as possible, usually by reducing and conforming the aggregate size and thorough mixing.

Private Forestry Programme – Panda Miti Kibiashara (PFP)

A bilateral programme between the Governments of Tanzania and Finland aiming at increasing rural income in the Southern Highlands through sustainable plantation forestry and value addition, with priority on smallholder owners and their Tree Growers' Associations.

AgriCord

A global alliance of agri-agencies mandated by farmers' organisations. Since 2007 AgriCord implements the Farmers Fighting Poverty Programme, supporting over 200 farmers' organisations per year in more than 50 developing countries.

A Swedish organization supporting SHTGA to implement a project on improved women and youth participation in private forestry and increased women income and household nutrition.
