About TTGAF

A united voice for smallholder tree growers

Tanzania Tree Growers Associations Federation (TTGAF) is a member based organization supporting forest and farm small scale growing farmers in Tanzania. It was founded in 2017 to promote the social, economic and environmental interests of small-scale forest and farm growers in the country.

TGA Common Nursery Model

TGA Common Nursery Model

Members mobilise resources for seeds, polythene tubes and labour so improved seedlings cost TZS 70 instead of TZS 150–200 on the open market. Members receive free seedlings for one acre.

Supported by We Effect, this project improves women and youth participation in private forestry while increasing women's income and household nutrition.

Working together for an inclusive forestry sector

Private Forestry Programme – Panda Miti Kibiashara (PFP)

A bilateral programme between the Governments of Tanzania and Finland aiming at increasing rural income in the Southern Highlands through sustainable plantation forestry and value addition, with priority on smallholder owners and their Tree Growers' Associations.

AgriCord

A global alliance of agri-agencies mandated by farmers' organisations. Since 2007 AgriCord implements the Farmers Fighting Poverty Programme, supporting over 200 farmers' organisations per year in more than 50 developing countries.

We Effect

A Swedish organization supporting SHTGA to implement a project on improved women and youth participation in private forestry and increased women income and household nutrition.

FFD – Food and Forest Development Finland

Finnish agri-agency cooperating with TTGAF on forestry enterprise development, timber value chains and producer organisation capacity in Tanzania.

Under the TGA common nursery our members get improved seedlings at TZS 70 instead of TZS 150 to 200, and one acre of planting material is free.
